I was thinking about Mr. Snydal and decided to do a Google search and was sad to read of his passing. I was one of his elementary students for 2 years in the 70’s at Vinci Park. He is THE teacher who stood out the most. From our German Club, to spelling bees with the winner getting sunflower seeds to making German mustard pickles. His laughter was the best and made us feel special. I’ve always thought fondly of him and will continue to do so. Thank you Mr. Snydal for making me feel seen and know you impacted so many of our lives and we love you!!

I’ve just listened to the Russian poems. As it happens my husband and I visited Russia around the time that Larry & Susan visited Jon in Moscow. We started in St. Pete’s where our daughter worked at the American Consulate. She took us, by night train, to Moscow. We too had the opportunity to enjoy a family meal in a Russian apartment, climbing up many flights of stair to be welcomes in a warm and colourful flat. My daughter had baked a chocolate cake to bring as dessert, but after all those flights of stairs it didn’t arrive in very good shape ~ still tasty. All good memories brought back by Larry’s poetry and voice.

I cry. I cry because we lost a beautiful choir and you and I were the last snd the babies. Thank you for such a beautiful portrait of my aunts and uncles. You will be missed, Sir.
I am so grateful that my son got to know you. He listened to your group over and over again. Rest easy and tell my mom I love her.

Thank you so much, Gabe, for all you’ve done for us and, in particular, for these kind words about my poetry. I’ve been writing for many years and consider it’s a blessing that I still can.
Your old friend,

Very easy listening. I learned a few new words today. Erebus, syncopated hearts. It’s all good. I knew you were prolific but holy smokes, not this prolific. I’m looking forward to listening to all of you work. Keep it up.

How wonderful to read your comments. It didn’t hurt that they were complimentary. I always remember you, Mark, from those weeks long ago when you were busy in the woodshed splitting our winter heat. And your sense of humor! I am very pleased that you liked some of my work.
Please greet everyone for us and wish them a Happy New Year.

I’ve had three of your books and just yesterday—25July2023—I browsed through “Dakota.”
I’ve written lots of small poems, some pithy, some witty, some just plain silly. I’d gotten started on finishing a bunch of them lately.
